New Holland Beer Barrel Rye is a rye whiskey finished in barrels that previously held New Holland's Dragon's Milk stout. It comes in a 75cl bottle from the Artisan Spirits division of New Holland Brewing Company in Michigan.
The finish in used beer barrels is meant to bring a beer-inspired character into the whiskey. New Holland Artisan Spirits was founded in 2006 as a branch of the brewery, which dates from 1997, and it bases its distilling and ageing on methods drawn from craft brewing.
