New Riff Bottled in Bond Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from New Riff Distilling in Newport, bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle. It is aged for a minimum of four years in new American oak barrels that are toasted and charred.
The mashbill is 95% rye and 5% malted rye, so there is no barley in the recipe. The whiskey is bottled without chill filtration.
The nose brings cinnamon bread and peppermint, with herbal notes of tarragon, clove and pine needles. On the palate, dark fruit, caramel and tart raspberry give way to chocolate orange and rye spice. The finish is medium in length, with pine, bitter chocolate and toasted wood.
