This is Nikka Days, a Japanese blended grain whisky launched in early 2019 and bottled at 40%. It is slightly peated.
The nose has apples, pears and strawberry liquorice, with perfumed daiginjo sake and white melon, then crushed barley, white chocolate and a little lemon zest. The palate is creamy and soft, with grapes, apples, toffee and candied lemon, and a touch of darker liquorice and barrel char smokiness. The finish brings lemon zest and buttery biscuits, with barley sugar sweetness leading to grain and spice.
