Nikka 'Miyagikyo' Date Blended Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Nikka Miyagikyo Date is a Japanese blended whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43%. It is named after Date Masamune, the historical samurai ruler of Sendai. The blend combines malt and grain whiskies made at Nikka's Miyagikyo Distillery in Miyagi Prefecture, using lightly peated malt, unpeated spirit and Coffey grain. The nose is ripe peach, apple, soft malt, vanilla and light floral sweetness, with gentle smoke and toasted oak behind. The palate brings orchard fruit, honey, malted grain, caramel and warm spice, with a whisper of smoke. The finish is clean and long, with fruit, malt and soft oak.
