Matsui Shuzo – 'The Tottori' Ex-Bourbon Cask Japanese Whisky (75cl)

The Tottori is a Japanese blended whisky from Matsui Shuzo, a company founded in 1910 on the Sea of Japan shore in Tottori Prefecture. It comes in a 75cl bottle, with the natural fragrance of the bourbon barrel in the foreground. The blend combines spirits sourced from Scotland with Japanese-distilled malted barley, aged for between 3 and 18 years. It is brought down to strength with the soft ground water of Tottori. The nose gives cinder toffee, coconut and vanilla with oaky depth. The palate has toffee, caramel, gingerbread and cinnamon, and the finish is lingering with woody spice.
