Kurayoshi 8 Year Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt whisky from Matsui Shuzo in Tottori Prefecture, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. Pure malt is the Japanese term for blended malt: here Scottish malt whiskies are blended with malt whisky made in-house, aged for at least eight years in ex-bourbon white oak barrels and proofed with spring water from Mount Daisen.
The nose offers honey, vanilla cream and green apple. The palate has toffee, pear, malt biscuit and white chocolate, with orange peel and pink peppercorn at the back. The finish is medium, fruity and gently drying, with toasted oak and a hint of strawberry jam.
