A Japanese blended malt aged 12 years, from the Nikka Taketsuru range, which is dedicated to Nikka's founder, Masataka Taketsuru. It is made from malts of Nikka's two distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Miyagikyo malts are regarded as fruity and light, Yoichi's as strongly smoky, and this blend brings both together. The nose is sweet, with caramel, plum, vanilla, apple and peach, and a little smoke. The palate is creamy and nutty, with chocolate, honey, fig and nutmeg. The finish is medium in length, sweet, smoky and woody.
