Nikka Whisky From the Barrel is a Japanese blend bottled at 51.4% ABV in a square bottle. It brings together more than 100 malt and grain components from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. After blending, the whisky is returned to cask in a step known as marriage, which lets the components mature together. The nose has spiced oak, dried apricot, clove, toffee and a touch of rose. The palate is full-bodied, with caramelised pear, cinnamon, roasted nuts and dark chocolate. The finish is warm and lingering, with charred oak, pepper and a hint of smoke.
