This is a 14 year old North British, distilled in 2008 and matured for its full time in a red wine cask. The independent bottler The Caskhound released it in its The Stillmann's Gold series, at 55.7% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is limited to 397 bottles, and is non-chill-filtered and uncoloured.
The nose brings winey notes, honey sweetness, a hint of furniture polish, pastry and herbs. The palate blends coconut shavings, pineapple and marzipan, followed by rum-soaked fruit, spice and red wine notes, turning dry. The finish is fairly long: dark chocolate first, then Mon Cheri and cocoa powder, ending in dry oak spice.
