This is a 17 year old single grain whisky from the North British distillery in Edinburgh, in the Lowlands. It matured in sherry casks and was selected and bottled by Thompson Bros. of Dornoch.
It is bottled at 48% without chill-filtration, and has a deep amber colour.
The nose is ripe plums and raisins with honey, malt, a hint of orange and soft vanilla. On the palate, buttery toffee and dark chocolate meet the concentrated fruit of dried raisins, in a creamy, full texture. The finish is long, with bittersweet cocoa and the sweetness of dark fruit.
