This is an 18-year-old single grain whisky from North British Distillery in the Lowlands, bottled independently by Signatory Vintage as its 100 Proof Edition. It was matured in first-fill sherry hogsheads and refill bourbon casks, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose has vanilla, caramel and honey with raisins, dried fruit and subtle oak. On the palate, toffee, butterscotch, ripe apple and soft spice come with raisins and dark chocolate from the sherry casks. The finish is long and warming, with lasting sweetness, light spice and oak.
