Refill hogshead
A 29 year old single grain whisky from North British, distilled in 1995 and bottled by James Eadie in 2025 at 49.9% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for its whole life in two refill hogsheads, and 361 bottles were filled. It is natural colour and not chill-filtered. The release is part of The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland series, which draws on a set of articles published between 1922 and 1929 that described and photographed 124 distilleries. The nose brings crème brûlée, cappuccino, vanilla and tonka bean alongside pale white wine and wheat beer. On the palate the crème brûlée and cappuccino return with golden syrup, strawberry, green apple, grapefruit and pineapple. The finish is orange peel, clove and honey, almost oily and finely bitter.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
