North British – 28 Year Old 1994/2023 First Fill Bourbon Barrel The Alba Trail (70cl, 47%)

This is a 28-year-old single grain whisky from North British, a Lowland distillery. It was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2023 for The Alba Trail series from the German importer Alba Import. The whisky spent its full 28 years in a first fill bourbon barrel, an unusual choice for a grain whisky. It is bottled at a cask strength of 47% in a 70cl bottle. It is described as rich in toffee while keeping the exotic fruit character of older grain whiskies.
