North British 34 Year Old – An Edinburgh Dram – Thompson Bros. (40.1%)

This is a 34 year old single grain Scotch whisky from North British in the Lowlands, selected by Thompson Bros. for its An Edinburgh Dram series. It is bottled at 40.1% ABV without chill filtration or added colour, and has a pale golden colour. The nose offers ripe apricots, brown sugar and vanilla, with custard and a touch of earthy spice. On the palate are juicy plums, melon, toffee and vanilla, with oak, honeycomb and stewed plums in a full, almost oily texture. The finish brings lemon, black pepper and spiced wood.
