This is a 35 year old single grain Scotch whisky from North British, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2025 by the independent bottler Master of Malt. It spent its whole maturation in a refill hogshead and comes in a 70cl bottle at 45.4% ABV. Only 185 bottles were filled.
The long time in wood is the heart of this release. The tasting notes describe a nose of vanilla cream, caramel and buttery pastry, with ripe fruit, honey and light oak.
On the palate it is soft and creamy, with toffee, candied nuts, milk chocolate and a gentle spice. The finish is long and velvety, with sweet oak, cereal notes and fine spices.
