North Star Spirits Cask Series 021 Dalmunach 2016 6 Year Old (70cl, 56.4%)

This is a 6 year old Speyside single malt from Dalmunach, bottled independently by North Star Spirits as part of Cask Series 021. It was distilled in February 2016 and bottled in November 2022, with 285 bottles produced. The whisky began in a refill barrel and was then finished in a Ruby Port barrel. It is bottled at 56.4%, in natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose is sweet and vinous, moving towards red fruit, cinnamon and chocolate. The palate is rich and warming, with cherry jam, cocoa, peppery oak and butterscotch. The finish is spicy, with prunes, ginger and lingering Port-influenced fruit.
