Oban 14 Year Old is a single malt from the west coast of Scotland, bottled at 43% ABV. It has spent 14 years maturing in oak casks, and the distillery's history goes back to 1794.
The whisky is described as balancing sweetness, saltiness and a light smokiness, with a maritime character.
On the nose come sea salt, citrus, a touch of smoke, honey and vanilla. The palate pairs fruity sweetness with a salty, coastal note, finished by oak and gentle spice. The finish is short and salty, followed by soft smoke and a little spice.
