Oban The Soul of Calypso is an 11 year old Highland single malt from the 2023 Diageo Special Releases, in the Spirited Xchange collection. It is the first Oban finished in Caribbean pot still rum casks, and the distillery's seventh Special Release.
Master Blender Dr Stuart Morrison selected the whisky. The packaging was illustrated by Kim Thompson. It is bottled at natural cask strength, 116 proof (58%), in a 750ml bottle.
The notes describe sugar cane, mango, pineapple and tropical fruit over sea breeze, seaweed, gentle iodine and citrus saltiness.
