This is Octomore 08.1, an 8 year old super heavily peated Islay single malt. It was distilled in 2009 from Scottish barley of the 2008 harvest and bottled in 2017 at 59.3% ABV, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The whisky matured entirely in first fill American oak casks. The nose is vanilla, smoked coconut and creamy milk chocolate, with peat that is warm rather than fierce. The palate is full-bodied, with chilli, black peppercorn, cold ashes, charred orchard fruits, burnt toast and bitter oranges. The finish is medium long, softer and sweeter, with a tender bitterness of bitter orange.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
