Octomore 13.3 is an Islay single malt distilled from barley grown on a single farm on the island by farmer James Brown. It is made with heavily peated malt, at 129.3 PPM, and bottled at 61.1% ABV.
It was matured in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks, together with second-fill European oak casks from the Rivesaltes region of France and the Ribera del Duero region of Spain.
The nose offers malt sugar, gentle peat smoke, green fruit, rose, apricot and eucalyptus. The palate is soft and sweet with honey, brown sugar, lemon zest and a marine hint. The finish brings smoke, honey, lemon and warm sand.
