Old Ballantruan 10 Year Old is a smoky Speyside single malt, matured entirely in American oak ex-bourbon barrels that were chosen by hand. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The character is rich, sweet and creamy, with a distinct peaty smokiness running through it.
On the nose it is gently spicy, with peat smoke set against a sweeter, creamy centre. The palate pairs light peat smoke with a sweet, malty backbone, and the finish begins sweet before smoky depth takes over.
