Old Ballantruan 15 Year Old is a peated Speyside single malt, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
All of the whisky was matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, which bring warming spice and a long finish that is sweet yet spicy.
The nose has gentle peat smoke with mild gun-flint, softened by creamy malt and hints of herbal heather. On the palate the smoke is soft, tempered by toffee sweetness and gentle oaky spice, and the finish balances smoke, sweetness and spice.
