Old Forester 117 Series High Angels' Share Rye is a small-batch Kentucky rye whiskey in a 37.5cl bottle at 55% ABV, or 110 proof.
Heat-cycled warehousing and distinct maturation conditions mean some Old Forester barrels lose more to evaporation than others. This release comes from a small batch of those casks, which developed intensely flavourful, concentrated profiles.
The nose offers rich chocolate and hazelnut with ripe strawberry and bright herbal tones. On the palate, citrus oils, burnt sugar and sandalwood lead, with peppercorn and eucalyptus. Earthy peppercorn lingers in the finish, rounded by toasted oak.
