Old Overholt 11 Year Old is a cask strength straight rye from Beam, bottled straight from the barrel without dilution at 107.4 proof. The brand dates back to the early 1800s and to Abraham Overholt in West Overton, Pennsylvania. The rye was distilled in the autumn of 2012 and matured for eleven years. The blending team drew barrels from four warehouses at the Clermont, Kentucky campus: M, J, F and 5. The mash bill is just over 51% rye. Official notes describe vanilla and tobacco on the nose. The palate brings allspice, sweet vanilla, caramel and charred oak, and the full-bodied finish carries lingering rye spice.
