Old Perth 1996 Vintage Collection 2021 Edition (70cl, 55.8%)

A blended malt from Morrison Distillers, the first release in the Old Perth Vintage Collection. Every cask in the vatting was distilled in 1996, and they come from a range of Scotland's whisky regions, with a small share of Islay malt. It is bottled at cask strength, 55.8%, in a 70cl bottle, and is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. All the malts matured entirely in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The outturn is 936 bottles. The nose offers dried fruit, soft spices and a hint of tobacco. The palate is rich and balanced, with stewed fruit and smoke, and the finish brings dark fruit with a gentle smoky undertone.
