Old Perth – 70 Year Old Solera Edition (70cl, 57.6%)

A blended Scotch from Morrison Distillers, this is the third release in the Old Perth range. It is a vatting drawn from five original 70-year-old bodega sherry butts, each with its own flavour profile. It is bottled at cask strength, 57.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is unfiltered and uncoloured, and has a deep crimson colour. The release is limited to 840 bottles worldwide. The tasting notes describe burnt matches, intense fruit and thick syrup on the nose. The palate has layers of molasses, old book pages and fully ripe dried fruit, and the finish is lastingly sweet.
