Old Perth Bodega Edition Morrison (70cl, 52.4%)

Old Perth Bodega Edition is a blended malt Scotch whisky bottled at cask strength, 52.4% abv, in a 70cl bottle. Only 1,200 bottles were filled worldwide. The name points to the great sherry bodegas of Spain, and the whisky was matured in a combination of Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Palo Cortado sherry casks. A strong share of the blend comes from Old Perth's historic 70-year-old solera casks. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour, and a deep ruby red in the glass. The nose offers spiced oak, orange peel, dark fruit and sweet syrup. On the palate come syrup cake, almonds, hazelnuts and a little cinnamon, followed by a long, warm, nutty-sweet finish.
