This is Old Perth Pedro Ximenez, a 2023 blended Scotch whisky from Morrison Distillers, bottled at 56.2% in an edition of 7,800 bottles. The Old Perth series marks Perth's history as a stronghold of blended whisky, along with the Old Perth brand, which dates from shortly after 1900. Its blend is built on sherry casks from Speyside, and this PX cask edition is matured in Oloroso and a small share of PX casks. Tasting notes describe intense spice on the nose, an earthy palate with spicy ginger and cinnamon, and a long, spicy finish.
