Old Pulteney 12 Year Old is a single malt from the 2018 release, matured entirely in bourbon casks. The bourbon influence brings plenty of sweetness, which sits against the coastal salinity of the whisky. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers honeycomb, vanilla, soft oak and oatcakes. The palate brings chocolate peanuts, mint, citrus peel, maritime notes and white pepper, and the finish carries toffee, brine and lemon.
