Old Pulteney 12 Year Old is a coastal Highland single malt from Wick, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured entirely in ex-bourbon American oak. The distillery was founded in 1826 at the northern edge of Scotland, and its warehouses stand close to the sea in Wick's cool maritime climate.
The nose brings sea salt, soft citrus, honeyed malt and gentle vanilla. The palate is smooth and slightly oily, with toffee sweetness, warm spice, salinity and light orchard fruit. The finish is medium and lightly briny, with vanilla and soft oak.
