This is the 12 year old Old Pulteney single malt, matured entirely in bourbon casks and released in mid-2018.
The bourbon casks give a pronounced sweetness, which balances the salty, coastal character of the whisky. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose offers honeycomb, vanilla, soft oak and oatcakes. On the palate there are chocolate peanuts, mint, citrus peel, maritime notes and white pepper. The finish brings toffee, brine and lemon.
