This is a 15 year old single malt from Old Pulteney, the distillery in the town of Wick in the Northern Highlands of Scotland. It is one of the most northerly distilleries in the country, and this bottling has an amber colour.
On the nose there are ripe apples and citrus fruit with fine honey sweetness and creamy vanilla, and a faint hint of chocolate and flowers behind. The palate brings salty, maritime notes, aromatic spice and a suggestion of Christmas cake. The finish is marked by toffee sweetness and a touch of salty sea air.
