Old Pulteney – Coastal Pineau des Charentes (70cl, 46%)

Old Pulteney Coastal Pineau des Charentes is the first release in a series of four, bottled at 46% in an outturn of 16,000 bottles. It matured first in bourbon casks and then had a longer finish in Pineau des Charentes wine casks. Pineau des Charentes is a drink made from fruit spirit and grape must. The nose is fruity with a light grape sweetness. The palate is complex, with orchard fruit, assorted berries, vanilla and light maritime salt notes, and the finish is very long and warming.
