This is a Highland single malt from Old Pulteney, the second release in its Coastal Series. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured entirely in ruby port casks from Portugal's Douro Valley. The sweetness of the port is set against the distillery's coastal, mineral character.
The nose opens with raisins, vanilla and cream, alongside candied orange peel and gingerbread spice, with cherry, marzipan and dark chocolate beneath. The palate pairs sweetness and spice, with baked apple, caramel and cinnamon pastry, followed by vanilla custard and a light touch of rosewater.
