Old Pulteney Dunnet Head is a single malt made in Wick, in the Scottish Highlands, and named after the most northerly point of mainland Britain. It is a travel retail edition, bottled at 46% in a one-litre bottle.
The whisky was matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, and the coastal setting in Wick shapes its salty, maritime character.
The nose brings sea spray, green apple and honey, with soft vanilla and a hint of citrus zest. The palate is medium-bodied, with sweet malt, toffee and ripe orchard fruits against a delicate salty tang. The finish is crisp and lingering, with briny freshness and light oak spice.
