Old Pulteney Flotilla 2012 is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Wick, a fishing port in Caithness. It was distilled in 2012 and matured mainly in American oak casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has a clear maritime character with lemon zest and green apple, over vanilla, honey and a light floral sweetness. The palate is medium-bodied, with salted caramel and vanilla custard giving way to orange peel and a delicate peppery spice, with a touch of brine. The finish is long and warming, with oak sweetness, a persistent saltiness and traces of ginger.
