Olmeca Altos Tequila Añejo (40%)

Olmeca Altos Tequila Añejo is a Highland tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico. The agave hearts are slow-cooked in brick ovens and partially crushed with a traditional tahona stone wheel before fermentation and double distillation in copper pot stills. It is matured for approximately 18 months in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The nose shows cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, roasted nuts and orange zest with peppery spice and light oak. The palate is creamy and structured with caramelized agave, almond cookie, chocolate and charred oak, balanced by cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is long and warming with roasted agave, caramel sweetness and herbal pepper spice.
