Ondjaba Gravino is a Namibian grain whiskey made by Wolfgang and Esther Koll at the Erongo Mountain Winery, 1,226 metres above sea level. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Ondjaba is the first whisky of Namibia and takes its name from the Ovambo word for elephant.
The grain is smoked over elephant dung, which gives a sweet scent reminiscent of cigars. Mahangu, a type of millet grown locally for thousands of years, is a main ingredient. This Cask Finish was matured further in casks that previously held Gravino, the winery's own liqueur wine similar to port.
It is described as having spice and sweetness together with a rich fruit note.
