Ondjaba – The Namibian Whiskey Rum Cask (70cl, 46%)

Ondjaba Rum Cask is a Namibian whiskey bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from three types of grain, including the local mahangu, and the grain is dried over burning elephant dung, which gives it a smoky character of its own. The spirit matured first in virgin oak and refill casks, then received a finish in rum casks that adds fruity, sweet and spicy notes to the smoke. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Spicy smoke with dark cherries, blackberries and vanilla leads on the nose. Red fruit, creamy caramel, cinnamon and sandalwood follow on the palate, and the long finish carries chocolate.
