Or Sileis Deanston 2008 Cotton Cat (70cl, 54.3%)

This is a 2008 single cask Deanston, selected by Or Sileis together with a private whisky salon and bottled at 54.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Deanston was a cotton mill before it became a distillery, which is the idea behind the Cotton Cat name. The colour is golden. The nose opens with tea leaf and creamy honey, then peach and old-fashioned plum sweets, with grass and the sweetness of green tea beneath. The palate is bright, with pineapple and apple, creamy warmth and a dry touch of cardamom. The finish brings tea and grain, then a return of malty sweetness.
