A 23-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Pappy Van Winkle, the Family Reserve in its 2014 edition, in a 75cl bottle at 47.8% ABV.
It is a limited edition, with each barrel aged for 23 years and chosen from the heart of the warehouse. It is best enjoyed neat.
The nose brings caramel and cream, with soft oak, nuts and leather. The palate is sweet, with vanilla, maple and honey alongside citrus and spice, and the long, oaky finish carries many of those early flavours.
