Elegance is a young Grande Champagne Cognac from Paul Giraud, aged six years, which is old enough to be bottled as XO. Jean Paul Giraud calls it a little baby. It suits drinks and mixing as well as sipping as a light aperitif.
The wine is distilled twice in pot stills dating from 1950 and 1962, the first time on its lees. The Cognac then ages at full strength in Limousin oak, with about 30% new casks each year. The nose is fruity and citrusy with freshly toasted oak. The palate is lively, with fresh yellow fruit and a dense layer of dried exotic fruit.
