Penderyn – 10 Year Old Icons of Wales Collection Port Pipe (70cl, 46%)

This Welsh single malt is the Bad Wolf edition, the thirteenth release in Penderyn's Icons of Wales series. It marks ten years of the Bad Wolf film studios in Cardiff. The ten year old whisky matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then was finished in tawny port pipes more than 50 years old. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose combines orange blossom and rose petals with fruitcake and fig jam. The palate has stewed dark fruit, marzipan, creamy toffee and a subtle salty note. The finish is long, with dried apricot and a little nutmeg.
