A Pinot Bianco from Josef Weger in Alto Adige. Pale straw yellow, it opens with restrained aromas of white-fleshed fruit, white flowers and a delicate bitter almond note. The palate is slender, with lively acidity, contained but balanced body, fruity returns and a savoury touch on the finish. It suits seafood starters, baked fish, grilled vegetables and fresh cheeses, and is best served at 10-12°C while young.
