Refill bourbon barrel
A 30 year old Highland single malt from Pittyvaich, distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range, Recollection Series 2. It comes from a single refill bourbon barrel, which gave 88 bottles at 48.9% ABV. Arthur Bell & Sons built Pittyvaich in 1975, next to its Dufftown distillery, to keep pace with demand for Bell's blended whisky. It closed in 1993. The nose is fragrant pear with dried ginger and orchard blossom, then Seville orange, apple and white chocolate. On the palate come grapefruit and lime zest, chilli spice, honeydew melon and apricot, with hints of marzipan. The finish is full, with lingering cocoa powder.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
