Pluscarden (Miltonduff) 21 Year Old 1994 Silver Seal (70cl, 47.5%)

This is a 21 year old single malt from Miltonduff, near Elgin in Speyside, bottled by Silver Seal under the Pluscarden name. It was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2015. The whisky matured in a single cask for the full 21 years and was bottled at 47.5% ABV without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The nose is honeyed malt with orchard fruits, vanilla custard and delicate floral notes, with oak spice, toffee and candied orange peel following. The palate is full-bodied, with malted barley, baked apple, creamy toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg and a little ginger. The finish is long, with oak spice, dried fruits and a hint of heather.
