Pōkeno – Exploration Series Triple Distilled Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 49%)

Pōkeno Exploration Series Triple Distilled is a New Zealand single malt bottled at 49% abv, in a 75cl bottle. Only 900 bottles were released for the US. The distillery has two stills, so the final two distillations take place in its 3600 litre spirit still, with the hearts separated from the heads and tails each time. Only about 20% of each run is kept as the heart. The spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. Rich honey and vanilla on the nose lead to vanilla bean, butterscotch, sweet citrus and a hint of pepper and clove, with a long, rich finish.
