This is a three-year-old New Zealand single malt from Pōkeno, released as part of The ImpEx Collection in a 75cl bottle at 117 proof. It was distilled in 2020 and bottled in 2023, with 330 bottles produced.
The whisky was matured in a first-fill Amontillado sherry cask. Pōkeno was founded in 2017 and uses barley from New Zealand's South Island and spring water from the hills around its North Island distillery.
The nose offers ripe peaches, orange and pear drops with honey and almonds. On the palate, peach and orange liqueur meet marzipan, cashew nuts and a little dried spice. The finish is long and rich.
