Port Askaig 45 Year Old is an unpeated Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It was distilled on Hogmanay in 1968 at the island's northernmost distillery and matured in five refill sherry butts.
The nose is full of thick, ripe fruit and sweet, sticky nectar, with a touch of menthol. On the palate come rich navel oranges and fleshy mango, with green tea, mint leaves and tropical fruit on a warming body. The finish is clean and long, with a mineral note.
