Port Charlotte 10 Years Old is a peated Islay single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery, with a phenol level of 40 PPM. It is made from 100% Scottish barley and was distilled, matured and bottled on Islay.
It matured for ten years in 65% first-fill bourbon casks, 10% second-fill bourbon casks and 25% French wine casks. It is bottled at 50%, non-chill filtered and without added colouring.
The nose has salty smoke, vanilla, smoked oak, honey, ripe lemon, peach and a little marzipan. The palate is oily, with roasted malt, crème brûlée, caramel, apple and citrus. The finish is long and warming, with peat smoke, sea salt, oak and light vanilla sweetness.
